I have recently bought a Chef's pad for the first time, after owning an Aga for 39 years and what a revelation! So useful for drying plastic containers on or delicate items of clothing that I wouldn't want to place directly onto the oven. I should have bought one years ago as I realise it would have protected the lids from scratches too.
