Beef & Ale Stew

A hearty slow cooked stew is the perfect comfort food to enjoy when arriving home on a cold January evening.  Prepare in the morning or the night before, then leave the simmering oven to work its magic while you’re out for the day.

Toss diced beef in seasoned flour and add to an AGA Cast Iron Casserole on the boiling plate with a little oil until sealed.  Remove from the casserole dish and add sliced shallots, leeks and garlic then cook until caramelised.  Re-add the meat together with carrots, swede, bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, stock and stout.  Bring to the boil before covering and slow cooking in the simmering oven for 8-10 hours.

The AGA Cast Iron Casserole dish brilliantly retains the radiant heat from the AGA oven, cooking food gently and locking in the flavour.  It is also perfect for keeping your stew warm, ready for second helpings!

Sunday Leftover Quesadillas

If you have Sunday lunch leftovers, why not make super quick Quesadillas for a speedy Monday night supper?

Lightly toast a flour tortilla on a piece of Bake-O-Glide on the simmering plate and sprinkle with cheese, chilli, spring onion, roast potatoes and chicken.  Place another tortilla on top and turn over allowing the cheese to melt. Cook for another couple of minutes, slice into wedges and enjoy!

Bake-O-GlideTM can be cleaned using a mild detergent or placed in the dishwasher.  Dry on the hotplate lids or roll up in a clean tea towel.
