The Perfect Recipe for a Simple Valentine’s Supper

This Valentine’s Day I’ll be cooking up a simple tasty supper for two – a perfectly cooked steak with sautéed garlic potatoes, followed by an indulgent chocolate orange mousse.

The heavy gauge AGA Black Iron 24cm Frying Pan is perfect for fast, fierce searing of sirloin steak.  Allow your meat to come up to room temperature for half an hour before you cook and lightly oil and season on both sides, before gently placing into the pre-heated black iron pan on the AGA boiling plate.  For a melt-in-the-mouth medium steak, cook for three minutes on each side and allow to rest before serving.

This tough, long-lasting black iron frying pan comes with a 25-year guarantee and simply needs seasoning with oil on kitchen paper to keep it in the best condition for a lifetime of use.  It’s also great for outdoor cooking on the grill, BBQ or fire bowl (once the weather gets warmer!)

To finish, we’ll enjoy a delicious dark chocolate mousse made 70% chocolate, egg whites, golden caster sugar and orange zest, piped into beautiful art deco-inspired AGA Empire Champagne Saucers before chilling in the fridge for a couple of hours and serving with chocolate shavings – perfect!
