I have two sets: one on and one in the wash!
My Aga lids remain pristine and scratch free. Hot pans and trays can be rested on them and small items dried there. The pads make handy oven cloths.
When they start to wear out, they take on another life: slipped as protection between large pans and serving dishes stored in cupboards.
