- 225g (8 oz) cooked potatoes
- 225g (8 oz) raw potatoes, peeled
- 225g (8 oz) plain flour
- ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 225-350ml (8-12 fl oz) buttermilk
- Salt and black pepper
Mash the potatoes and place in a bowl. Grate the raw potato into this and add the flour and bicarbonate of soda, season. Add enough buttermilk to make a soft batter.
2, 3, 4 and 5 oven AGA: Place a circle of Bake-O-Glide onto the Simmering Plate and place spoonfuls of the mixture onto the surface. Cook one side until golden then turn over and cook the other side.
Alternatively fry in a little butter in a frying pan. Serve with grilled bacon for breakfast or fried eggs.
Rayburn cooking: Cook on a piece of Bake-O-Glide on the hotplate at an appropriate heat.
Conventional cooking: Cook in a frying pan on the hob.
