Ingredients

  • 175g (6 oz) butter
  • 235g (8 oz) porridge oats
  • 175g (6 oz) soft brown sugar
  • 75g (3 oz) plain flour
  • Half a tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • Half a tsp salt
  • 1 jar of mincemeat

Method

Put the butter into a large pan and set on the back of the AGA to melt. Put the jar of mincemeat onto the back of the AGA to soften and warm up. Mix the oats, sugar, flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda, into the melted butter.

Line a small roasting tin with Bake-O-Glide. Put half the mixture into the tin and spread evenly. Spread the jar of mincemeat over, and top with the rest of the mixture.

2 Oven AGA: Set the tin into a larger roasting tin and hang from the fourth set of runners in the Roasting Oven, with the cold plain shelf on the second set of runners above.

3 and 4 Oven AGA: Hang the tin from the third set of runners in the Baking Oven.

Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
