Will make 1 x 2lb loaf
- 300g wholemeal flour
- 200g plain flour
- 145g sultanas
- 0.5 tsp of bread soda
- 200g black treacle
- 50ml/g water
- 2 eggs
- 290 ml Guinness
Combine all the ingredients and mix together well. Pour the mixture into a well buttered 2lb loaf tin.
2, 3 & 4 oven AGA: Bake in the Baking Oven for 50 minutes.
Conventional Cooking: Bake at 170C for 50 minutes.
Turn out of the loaf tin and leave to cool.
Serve with Créme Fraiche, Irish smoked salmon and a squeeze of lemon.
