Hoisin Glazed Ham
To feed more people: A larger (or smaller) ham takes proportionately longer (or shorter!) to cook.
Serves 8-10
Ingredients
- 5lb (2.5kg) piece of ham
- 3 tbsp Hoisin sauce from a bottle
- 1 orange, sliced
Method
Put the ham into a large pan and cover with a well-fitting lid. Place the pan into the Simmering Oven and cook for around 45 minutes per pound, or 90 minutes per kilo.
When the ham is cooked, remove it from the pan. Then using a sharp knife, peel away the skin leaving a thin covering of fat. Score the fat with diagonal lines and smear the Hoisin sauce over the fat and the exposed ends of the joint.
Set the joint into a roasting tin which has been lined with Bake-O-Glide and hand this from the 4th set of runners in the Roasting Oven. Cooker for about 15 minutes until the glaze is golden brown and bubbling.
Decorate with slices of fresh orange and serve.
