Product Information

AGA stainless steel cookware has not only been designed to create perfect dishes every time but to also retain it's stylish appearance for years to come. Offering superior 18/10 stainless steel, the AGA pans feature a completely encapsulated base which conducts heat evenly and quickly with an energy saving Superthermic wave profile base.

An absolute essential for any busy kitchen to offer superior performance on any cooker and any heat source (including induction).

The encapsulated base enables movement down to the heat source, to create a completly flat surface, ensuring even heat when cooking. This occurs due to the aluminium core sandwiched between stainless steel.

The lid knob and handles offer clear AGA branding, making the items stunning cooker to tableware. The large handles are easy to grasp when wearing double oven gloves or gauntlets.

Fabulous for boiling/simmering a large joint of gammon before roasting. Also used for large batches of soup.
Best - ever preserving pan by Alison Oakes
Absolutely brilliant for preserves and chutneys
wrong shape by Charlotte
not the right shape for a preserving pan so you don't get enough evaporation. More like a very large casserole or stock pan.
Aga Cookshop Team Response
Dear Charlotte, Thank you for your review. AGA cooking specialist, Dawn Roads has offered some expert advice on the AGA stainless steel preserving pan. We hope you find this information useful: "Thank you for your comment concerning the AGA Stainless Steel Preserving Pan. If I may explain; the AGA preserving pan has been designed for making the very best use of the AGA whilst making preserves; jams, pickles and chutneys. It has a special tri-core base (a disc of aluminium, a good heat conductor, encapsulated in the stainless steel) for the best boiling performance on the AGA hotplates and the aperture at the top is 28cms, which allows a good area for evaporation when a rolling boil is required – just like the maslin pan. The preserving pan has a lid so it can be used to soften fruits in the Simmering Oven before the sugar is added. Incidentally AGA owners find not as much liquid is required for preserves etc as softening in the Simmering Oven means there is less evaporation at this first stage, as an all-round heat is used instead of just base heat, giving a good flavour and colour to the finished preserve. My preserving pan is in use for preserves many times in the year and at the moment making copious amounts of marmalade. It is very efficient at the ‘rolling boil’, quickness giving a clarity in the jar. Personally I also find it is of more benefit, to me, than a maslin pan, (indeed as you say) it can be used as a large saucepan, such as poaching a gammon, cooking a large amount of chilli or a casserole for entertaining, making stock etc. Hoping this has answered your query to your satisfaction."
Kind regards AGA Cookshop
